Sisters Alexandra 21 Months Old and Mimi 9 months Old Find a Loving Foster Family!

I want to share a great story of hope with you.

Alexandra who is 21 months old, and Mimi who is 9 months old, are sisters. They were left at a pediatrician’s office by their mother- and she never returned.  When the doctor’s staff contacted Child Protection Services, they immediately called Mariana to see if we could take them.

Our social workers could find no trace of who their father was, and sadly, the young mother was addicted to drugs and alcohol, and unable to provide a safe environment for them. For the last two months they stayed with us on the 3rd floor at The Village of Hope, and now we have found a wonderful foster family to take them.

Alex and Maria have no children of their own and live with Maria’s mother, Marieta, on their farm in a rural village called Giulvaz.  2-1/2 years ago they fostered two of our older boys, Gabriel now 13 and Cosmin 14. Both boys were living on the streets and were brought to us by Child Protection Services. It took our team five months to rebuild their trust and teach them how to live and be part of a loving family.

Recently, when one of our social workers visited the family home, Maria and Alex mentioned that they would like to foster two more little girls. It couldn’t have been a more perfect fit.  In the photo you can see the joy on their faces now that Alexandra and Mimi have joined the family.  These children have what every child deserves – love, hope, a family, and a future.

8 year-old Edward just went into the first grade in a school in Timisoara.  It’s a Romanian tradition for children attending a new school to bring flowers for the teacher.

Edward was at The Village of Hope for six months. His mother had passed away, and his father, unable to cope with the loss, lost his job and their apartment. Child Protection Services turned Edward over to Mariana’s care and she was able to place him with a young couple, Vasile and Nadia, who live in Timisoara.  They have no children of their own and are delighted to have Edward in their lives. You can see he has adjusted well and is a very happy boy.

A brand new arrival at The Village of Hope is 6 year-old Anastasia.  She is very shy and withdrawn, and you can see in the photo that her eyes are filled with fear.  Our social workers are trying to locate her parents and find out what they can about her background. The counselors and caregivers are by Anastasia’s side each day, to rebuild her trust and show her what love is.  I will keep you posted on her progress in the weeks ahead – please keep her in your prayers.

We always need more family sponsors at $43.20 per month ($518.40 per year) so we can continue rescuing at-risk children like Alexandra, Mimi, Edward, and Anastasia, and place them into families. Please pray about becoming a regular monthly sponsor.

With school now in session, we have hired a tutor who will come to The Village of Hope six hours a week to work with the children.  Many of the children who have been abandoned have fallen behind in their studies. The tutor will work with them so they can catch up with the other children in their class.  It will cost $500 per month, or $3,500 for the seven months of the school year to tutor the children.

56 partners who will sow a seed of $62.50. . .or 112 partners who will sow a seed of $31.25 (or your best gift) will meet this need.  Please pray about what you can do to help.

You can call my office at 1-800-964-9846 and put a gift on your credit card, or give on this website by clicking on the GIVE tab on the top of this page.

I look forward to hearing from you this week.
